This is a book written and illustrated by children and for children. Designed to engage children with the solar system, this book attempts to introduce facts about the planets around our sun, from Saturn’s rings to Jupiter’s great red spot in the format of a poem.
Although he is the fifth child, Jupiter has grown
To become a giant– the largest child of them all.
In fact, he and his younger brothers Are all bigger than the four older children, as they are
The Gas Giants,
While Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are
The Rock Regulars.
However, in this case the story goes a step further. What if … every planet wasn’t just a sphere of rock or gas? If they each had personalities, what would they be like?

Now, let’s take it a step even further … since each Chakra in our subtle system is affected by a planet, displaying the nature and characteristics of their ruling planet, the author attempts to give each planet a personality with the qualities of the Chakras it represents. So, Mercury represent Swadishthana Chakra; Venus is Heart Chakra; Earth is a Mother; Mars is Mooladhara; Jupiter is Nabhi; Saturn is Vishuddhi; Uranus doesn’t get represented; Neptune is Agnya; “And lastly Pluto who was born as a sweet, little dwarf” - even though not a planet, it represents Sahasrara. It’s a wonderful way for kids to not only learn about planets but all the beautiful, inherent qualities that we must manifest within ourselves.

At the end, the author reminds the reader that the journey within is what matters. I’ll share the last six verses of the poem:
After deep contemplation,
I realized something important”
I have journeyed outside
Through the solar system,
But, perhaps, the true journey
May be the journey within.
Some travel all through the world
Seeking for something unknown–
I traveled through the galaxy!
And I have only now realized
That what humanity seeks
Is not outside;
It cannot be found anywhere
But inside each and every
One of us.
We all have that spark
Of inspiration inside us.
We must tenderly let the spark
Grow into a strong flame
So that we are inspired to
Go inside ourselves:
To introspect and meditate,
To awaken the Sun’s children within us,
And slowly, tenderly to let
Their reflections within us grow,
So that we become enlightened with their qualities.
And all passing by shall remark,
“Now he is the one who truly knows himself!”
